Il Volo Sings ‘Il Mondo’ at ‘Il Volo…Takes Flight’ Concert: Repeat Rotation Video

il volo il mondo pbs il volo takes flight

I find a lot of my Repeat Rotation Videos from going down rabbit holes after I listen to other songs.

Today’s Repeat Rotation Video is from Italian operatic pop trio Il Volo (meaning ‘The Flight’ in English). It is called ‘Il Mondo‘ or ‘The World‘ and is from a PBS concert the trio performed in, ‘Il Volo…Takes Flight‘, that was filmed at Detroit’s famed Opera House back in 2011.

I ended up with today’s obsession with Il Volo, and discovered the songĀ ‘Il Mondo‘ this morning when I heard the trio sing for the first time after they won Italy’s Sanremo festival last night. Il Volo will now be the act representing Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest in May, which will be held in Vienna, Austria.

Il Volo, by the way, areĀ tenors Piero Barone and Ignazio Boschetto, and baritone Gianluca Ginoble. All of whom have the most beautiful voices.

Listen to Il Volo singing ‘Il Mondo‘ in the video below. I have been listening to their gorgeous performance of the song over and over for the last couple of hours. And, let me tell you, playing it as loud as possible makes you feel like your soul could just take flight and soar.

Just saying.
