Iron Family Ep 18 still #1 most-watched Sunday show as K-drama heads into 2nd half

Is anyone surprised that the weekend drama Iron Family, Episode 18 aired on Sunday night in South Korea to huge ratings and to, again, being the #1 most-watched show of any kind on Sunday?

I know I’m not.

After all, not only are weekend dramas generally very popular in Korea, but Iron Family has been one of the better ones right from its first episode.

Last night, the K-drama proved that again by grabbing a huge 17.2 percent of the nationwide audience – up from the 15.6 percent it earned on Saturday night.

The Korean drama also garnered 15.6 percent of the audience in Seoul — up from the 14.4 percent it earned for its previous episode.

That means Iron Family now heads into its second half performing just as solidly as its predecessor Beauty and Mr. Romantic, which earned 16.2 percent at its mid-point (in that drama’s case, Episode 25).

Iron Family is also earning exceptionally good ratings from international viewers watching it via Viki, with almost 1,100 of those people awarding it an average rating of 9.3 out of 10 so far.

The Korean weekend drama stars Kim Jung Hyun, Geum Sae Rok, Choi Tae Joon, and Yang Hye Ji, and is currently scheduled to run through January 26th, 2025.
