Two dramas ended their runs on Sunday night in South Korea with big viewership increases, and all-time high ratings.
One was A Virtuous Business, and the other was Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born — the tvN drama that was pulling in large audiences right from its very first episode – and just went out with a huge bang last night.
That’s because data from Nielsen Korea shows Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born, Episode 12 grabbing a massive ratings increase last night — both nationwide and from audiences in Seoul.
Nationwide, that meant the Korean musical-themed drama earned 16.45 percent of the audience share — up from Saturday night’s already high rating of 12.76 percent.
Meanwhile, audiences in Seoul were even more determined to see how the K-drama ended, as 17.09 percent of them tuned in on Sunday night — compared to the 13.46 percent who watched on Saturday night.
Those numbers also mean the average rating per episode of Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born is 11.31 percent nationwide, and 12.14 percent in Seoul.
Damn good numbers from the ladies then, eh?
Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born on the buzzworthy charts
It’s not just the Nielsen Korea ratings in South Korea where Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born has excelled either.
The drama also hit #1 on the Buzzworthy Drama list earlier in the month, while star Kim Tae Ri also climbed to #1 on the Buzzworthy Drama Actors list.
And this month, of course, there’s this…
Kim Tae Ri hits #1 on Drama Actor Brand Reputation Rankings list for November
Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born stars what is probably one of the best female casts to ever come out of South Korea —  Kim Tae Ri, Shin Ye Eun, Ra Mi Ran, Jung Eun Chae and Kim Yoon Hye.
