I can’t possibly write about how awesome it is being British and how wonderful so many British things are without mentioning the operatic duo, Jonathan and Charlotte.
Discovered on Britain’s Got Talent earlier in the year, Jonathan Antoine and Charlotte Jaconelli are still in their late teens but are already famous as two of the most popular young opera singers in the world.
At the time they appeared on Britain’s Got Talent the audience was not only blown away by their voices but also at how young they were, with Jonathan being only 16 and Charlotte just a year older.
Jonathan and Charlotte released their first album in the UK at the end of September, 2012. It went to number 5 on the British charts.
Jonathan and Charlotte’s first performance on Britain’s Got Talent is, of course, their most famous video, but I love this one — the Jonathan and Charlotte Station Sessions – where they sing live at St. Pancras International train station in November of this year.
By the way, the Station Sessions are wonderful events St. Pancras International Station puts on in seasons throughout the year to draw the public’s attention to incredible music by allowing them to see performers live and, of course, free. Their website has a schedule of upcoming artists, as well as videos of some of the other British artists who have already sung there.
As for Jonathan and Charlotte, you can find out everything about them including their upcoming first national tour of the UK in 2013 on their website.
