Relatively new K-Pop hip hop band BTS have just started their first ‘Red Bullet’ Asia tour with concerts in Japan, the Philippines. This week, BTS hit Singapore. Of course, each concert was jammed with thousands of screaming teenage girls, making BTS an actual hit in Singapore and everywhere else they’ve performed so far.
BTS was formed in 2013 and is short for Bangtan Sonyeondan in Korean, which means ‘Bulletproof Boy Scouts’. Huge in Korea, the seven-member boy band BTS is also massively famous in most other Southeast Asian countries, as Asians throughout the region think every K-pop boy band is ‘cool’ and flock to buy their albums.
In Singapore, many BTS fans arrived hours before the show so they could make banners to wave at the boys while they sang.
BTS is also heading to my neck of the woods next, with a ‘Red Bullet’ concert in Bangkok tomorrow (December 20th) at Chaeng Wattana Hall. It will be the last concert on the BTS Asian tour, before the boys head back home in time for the holidays.
