Katy Perry has been spending the last year working on her upcoming fifth album. An album that we are likely to hear a new song from this weekend when Perry sings at The Grammy Awards.

If she does, it will be the first new music we have heard from the 32-year-old singer since her last single release in mid-2014.

That is because the grapevine is already reporting Perry is expected to release new song ‘Chained to the Rhythm‘ on Friday. A song she will be performing at the Grammys on Sunday night. That rumor kicked off right after Perry herself and the Grammy Awards announced her as a definite addition to the Grammy night line-up earlier in the week.

Perry will join Beyonce, Keith Urban, Adele, John Legend, Daft Punk, The Weeknd, Chance the Rapper, Metallica, and Carrie Underwood who will all be performing at the 59th annual Grammy Awards. And yep, that’s a very good line-up.

Meanwhile, check out the photograph Katy Perry released on Instagram today. Normally a natural brunette, there Perry is with blonde tousled hair, all dressed up in pink and looking very Marilyn Monroe-esque. The tag simply read “New life who dis”.

Don’t know about you, but I love it.
