Kiui Watase’s character trailer shows Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night’s VTuber as a very self-confident girl

The third Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night trailer for one of the anime’s main characters has been released today via the anime’s official X account and, this time, it is Kiui Watase’s character trailer.

The Kiui Watase character trailer follows on from those for Mahiru Kouzuki and Kano Yamanouchi’s, which came out earlier in the week.

It is the third of four such videos, with the fourth one (for Kim Anuuku Mei Takanashi) also just released via the King Amusement Creative Official’s YouTube channel.

Kiui Watase’s character trailer properly introduces the Vtuber

In the case of Kiui Watase, her trailer introduces her as Mahiru’s childhood friend, and a Vtuber called ‘Ryugasaki Nox’.

It also immediately shows her personality as being one where she truly believes in herself and her abilities, as she explains her goal in life is to walk a different path than everyone else.

Then again Kiui is good at most things she tries, and has even taught herself the skills she now possesses as a Vtuber that have made her popular.

In reality, however, Kiui’s attitude can sometimes be a problem, with the gaps in her personality meaning she rarely ever fits in with the people around her.

That also means, because she is useless around people she doesn’t know or trust, Mahiru is the only person she can talk to about anything.

Also introduced in the anime’s latest character trailer is Miyu Tomita  (Matsuri in Ayakashi Triangle), the voice actress playing Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night‘s Kiui.

The staff and plot of Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night

The very cute looking anime is based on an original story by JELEE .

It is being directed by Ryohei Takeshita (Eromanga Sensei), with scripts by Yuki Yaku (author of Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki) and character designs by Junichiro Taniguchi (Sing ‘Yesterday’ for Me).

Studio Doga Kobo is in charge of anime production.

The Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night anime series is scheduled to premiere on April 6th in Japan, with HIDIVE streaming the series for its North American subscribers soon after.

HIDIVE describes the plot like this:

Four young women—an artist who quit drawing, a retired idol wishing to prove her worth, a hotheaded V-tuber, and a mysterious composer—band together on the late-night streets of Shibuya to form an anonymous artist group called “JELEE”.

Produced by Doga Kobo on the studio’s 50th anniversary, this touching coming-of-age ensemble drama celebrates the unique energy of Shibuya, Japan’s most popular nightlife district, as well as the legacy of Doga Kobo, studio behind smash-hit series Oshi no Ko.

Watch the new Kiui Watase character trailer below, and mark your calendars to check this one out when it releases in April.

Because, while the outgoing VTuber definitely seems a little over-the-top personality wise, she’s certainly cute and interesting, eh?
