Koikimo’s ED is one of prettiest anime songs of 2021 – and so romantic

MaRuRi to Ryuga’s ‘Rinaria‘ from Koikimo is so damned pretty

An anime I enjoyed more than any other in a while this month is the romantic comedy Koi to Yobuniha Kimochi Warui — aka Koikimo .

An anime that took me by surprise in just how fast I became invested in the characters, and how much I wanted Ichika and Ryo to get together.

Especially as, when I saw the trailer for the anime last year, the story about a 27-year-old man falling in love with a 17-year-old high school student seemed a little creepy.

Believe me, it’s not.

Along with the plot of Koikimo, which is wonderful, the anime’s OP and ED got stuck in my head right from the first episode.

But it was the Koikimo ending theme song in particular that grabbed my heart, and gave me goosebumps.

Called ‘Rinaria’ and performed by music duo MaRuRi to Ryuga, the song features gorgeous vocals, one of those beats that means you can’t stop yourself from dancing alone, and a guitar interlude that gave me chills.

I love the Koikimo ending theme song so much, I never missed playing it right through to its end in every episode, and soon had it downloaded to my phone so I could speedwalk through Vienna while it played in my headphones.

It is one of the sweetest anime ending theme songs released last year with even fans, who were not as enamored of that wonderful anime as I was, still commenting what a beautiful ending theme the anime featured.

MaRuRi to Ryuga’ ‘Rinaria‘ also has an official music video that follows two high school girls as they spend time in an otherwise empty school just enjoying being together.

Listen to ‘Rinaria‘ by MaRuRi to Ryuga — the Koikimo ending theme song — in the song’s official music video below. And play it as loud as you can stand, and with your eyes closed.

You can also listen to the song on MaRuRi to Ryuga’s debut studio album, which came out via EMI last year. (Down below)

And, if you are as obsessed with MaRuRi to Ryuga’s ‘Rinaria‘ as I am, there is also an hour-long version of the song that’s a must hear that is also down below.

And yep, I’ve listened to it through — several times. I told you. I’m obsessed.

Because ‘Rinaria‘ is such a helluva pretty song, it wraps itself around your soul before you even realize. Whether you understand Japanese or not.
