The Laid-Back Camp, Season 3 opening animation has been released ahead of the anime itself, which premiered in Japan earlier today.
The new Laid-Back Camp Season 3 opening animation not only gives us a look at our favorite campers, albeit in a sweet, pastel-colored style, but it also features the anime’s catchy opening theme song — Laid-Back Journey by Kiminone.
The slice-of-life anime itself is one of this season’s most anticipated releases, as it has been almost two years since the Laid-Back Camp movie was released in Japan.
A movie, of course, that had our favorite girls — Rin, Nadeshiko, Aoi, Chiaki and Ena — as adults, although the third season of the anime series now has them back as high school students.
New staff and studio for Laid-Back Camp, Season 3
The third season of Laid-Back Camp also comes with a completely different staff and studio (which is a bit of a worry), although it was nice to watch the Laid-Back Camp, Season 3 opening animation and see the familiar lettering style that we all love, and to see our favorite campers at least looking like themselves.
Shin Tosaka (IS: Infinite Stratos) is directing the new season of the anime, after the first two seasons were beautifully directed by Yoshiaki Kyogoku.
Masafumi Sugiura (Uma Musume: Pretty Derby) is now in charge of series composition, while Takanori Hashimoto (animation director of A Whisker Away) is the new character designer.
The anime has also moved studios from C-Station, who produced both the first two seasons and the movie, to Studio 8bit.
But, as 8bit has done beautiful work with anime like Blue Lock, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, and Encouragement of Climb, I’m not to worried about their involvement in Season 3 of one of my favorite all-time anime series.
