Laid-Back Camp Season 3 Chiaki Ogaki visual isn’t as bad as you may expect

Every time a new promo piece from the upcoming Laid-Back Camp, Season 3 is released, I cannot get over how the characters do not look like the same characters we have known and loved through two seasons of Laid-Back Camp, plus a film, specials and Heya Camp.

Not only don’t they look remotely the same but, frankly, I hate them.

Sure, the character designer for Laid-Back Camp, Season 3 has been changed from Season 1, 2, specials and movie’s Mutsumi Sasaki to first-time character designer Takanori Hashimoto, so a change of look is to be expected.

But the characters for Laid-Back Camp, Season 3 look so flat and so devoid of actual personality, I have a feeling the new season of the much-loved anime series may turn out to be a massive disappointment.

Throw in that Laid-Back Camp, Season 3 not only has a new director (Shin Tosaka (director of the very poorly rated Regalia: The Three Sacred Stars) instead of Season 1, 2 and movie’s superb director Yoshiaki Kyougoku), and that the studio has been changed from C-Station to 8bit (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime), there are so many changes it will be a miracle if the third season of the hit slice-of-life anime series is anywhere near as good as its predecessors.

Laid-Back Camp, Season 3 Chiaki Ogaki character visual not as bad as you may expect

That being said, a new Laid-Back Camp, Season 3 Chiaki Ogaki character visual has just been released via the anime’s website and, if you avoid looking at the character sketches that came with it (see below), which are pretty awful, Chiaki doesn’t look too bad.

In the new Season 3 Chiaki Ogaki character visual, we see the The Outdoor Activities Club member out where you might expect her — standing in front of an awning and camping chairs at a garden party, brandishing the tools she will need to make sure her trip is perfect.

One of them looking suspiciously like a glue gun.

As for Laid-Back Camp, Season 3, the latest season of the anime is due for an April, 2024 release.

With the massive amount of changes the popular slice-of-life anime has received, I have a feeling most fans will be holding their breath until it arrives to see just how bad, or conversely how good, it turns out to be.

Personally, I will give the first couple of episodes a try at least as 8-bit does have a slew of excellent anime under their belt (Reincarnated as a Slime, Blue Lock, Encouragement of Climb), so their version of Laid-Back Camp may not be as bad as some of us fear.

Meanwhile, enjoy the just released Chiaki Ogaki character visual (CV: Sayuri Hara), and keep your fingers crossed Season 3 doesn’t destroy our memory of these much-loved girls.
