It’s release day for Lana del Rey’s third album Ultraviolence, and to help celebrate the occasion she’s also released an official video for ‘Shades of Cool’ the second single from the album.
Now, I’m a huge fan of Lana del Rey (what a voice!), but even I have to say the video for ‘Shades of Cool’ is one of the best she’s done. As usual, it’s psychedelic, disjointed and looks like it would fit in very well in the 70s, but it also reminds me of The Cocteau Twins – same style of ethereal melody.
Lovely job, Lana, for both the Shades of Cool video and the album itself. I’ve a feeling this one is going to be just as big as the last.
