British-Gibraltarian singer songwriter Albert Hammond’s big hit song ‘It Never Rains in California‘ was played on the soundtrack of the HBO Max comedy drama series Hacks this week — Hacks, Season 2, Episode 7, “On the Market“.
The song was heard during the episode’s opening scenes.
Albert Hammond’s ‘It Never Rains in California‘ was released in October, 1972 on the Mums record label and, while the song initially sounds like an upbeat, feel-happy track, it actually is not.
Instead, the lyrics tell the story of a singer who has tried to make it big in the entertainment industry, but has failed miserably.
