Indie American folk band Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros’s ‘Home‘ was that fabulous song playing on the new Netflix movie A Perfect Pairing over the end credits. (and before that during the campfire scene).
‘Home‘ is from Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zero’s debut studio album Up From Below, which came out in 2009 on the Rough Trade Records and Vagrant Records labels.
The album charted in the United States, Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom, with its highest chart position at #52 on the UK Albums chart.
Since its release, songs from the album have been licensed for play on shows like Beavis and Butthead, Chuck, Ugly Betty, Greek, Gossip Girl and Made in Chelsea.
Yep, it has been a big hit with TV show music supervisors.
Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros’s catchy ‘Home‘ has been particularly popular with music supervisors on various media.
It has shown up on The Wilds, Shining Vale, The Voice, Raising Hope, Ugly Betty, and Community before it was also licensed for play on the movie A Perfect Pairing.
Probably not surprising as the track has an addictive beat and melody, and the vocals are fun and cool.
Listen to Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros’s ‘Home‘ as heard on A Perfect Pairing in the song’s official music video, and on the band’s Up From Below album.
The movie A Perfect Pairing is currently streaming on Netflix.
