The now defunct British rock band Oasis’ ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger‘ was played on Ted Lasso this week — Ted Lasso, Season 2, Episode 8, “Man City“.
The song played as Coaches Lasso and Beard talk, and as we see Rebecca at home.
Oasis’ ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger‘ was first released on the band’s second studio album (What’s the Story?) Morning Glory?, which came out in late 1995 via the Creation record label.
It was the fourth single from the massively successful album, and became the band’s second single to hit the top spot on the UK Singles chart.
Since its release, ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger‘ has not only been a consistent fan favorite, the song has also appeared on numerous music critics’ lists as one of the best British songs from the last few decades.
It was also the first Oasis song to feature lead vocals by Noel Gallagher instead of by his brother Liam.
A surprise at the time, but one that was then followed up by six more releases from Noel.
Oasis themselves were one of the most successful ever British bands and still today, a decade after they broke up, are still one of the best-selling bands of all time.
Listen to Oasis’ ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger‘ as heard on Ted Lasso in the song’s official music video, and on the band’s (What’s the Story?) Morning Glory? album.
