Listen to Sylvan Esso’s ‘Come Down’ from Sharp Objects finale “Milk”

North Carolina-based electro pop duo Sylvan Esso’s ‘Come Down‘ was one of the songs featured on the Sharp Objects finale last night — Season 1, Episode 8, “Milk“.

It was the song heard during the last part of the episode’s end credits, and was a suitably melancholic, sad sound to go with that brutal ending.

An ending you may not have been expecting. Especially if you have read the Gillian Flynn novel the TV series was based on.

Sylvan Esso’s ‘Come Down‘ is from the duo’s self-titled debut album. Released in 2014 on Partisan Records, the album did wonderfully well for a not-very-well-known indie music duo at the time, ending up in the number 39 spot on the Billboard 200 album chart.

It also climbed to number 7 on the Indie Albums chart.

Their second album, What Now, was released last year and did even better, garnering a Grammy Award nomination for the pair.

Since its founding in 2013, the duo has gained more and more attention, both from critics and fans. They have appeared at Coachella several times, South by Southwest, the Melt! Festival and Eaux Claires.

They have also performed live on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.

Sylvan Essen comprises vocalist Amelia Meath and producer and multi-instrumentalist Nick Sanborn, also a husband and wife team since mid-2016.

You can also see the duo perform ‘Come Down‘ live in a gorgeous four-song NPR Tiny Desk Concert in the video below that. It is the last song they perform.

And, if you would like to see the duo live, you can check out upcoming tour dates on the Sylvan Esso website.
