The Heavy has more of its music played on a hit TV show — this time True Lies
The English alternative rock band The Heavy’s ‘Hurricane Coming‘ was played on this week’s True Lies as Harry fights with Tucker to stop him from stealing the uranium — True Lies, Season 1, Episode 11, “Unfamiliar Partnerships‘.
The Heavy’s ‘Hurricane Coming‘ was one of several cool rock songs played on the episode, and is a track released by the indie rock band as their latest single earlier this year.
It also showed up as one of the four tracks on their new EP Without a Woman.
That EP came out on April 11th via the Bad Son Recordings label, (Listen to the entire EP below), as well as on their sixth studio album Amen.
Amen was released on April 21st.
Who is the band The Heavy?
The band comprises lead singer Kelvin Swaby, guitarist Dan Taylor, bass guitarist Spencer Page and drummer Chris Ellul.
The Heavy was founded in 2007 in Bath, England by the four men and, since the band’s founding, have released six full-length studio albums, a couple of EPs, a compilation album and 20 singles, with ‘Hurricane Coming‘ their latest.
The Heavy’s cool rock music has also become popular with TV show music supervisors (hence the True Lies placement), with their songs showing up on shows like The Vampire Diaries, White Collar, The Last O.G., Entourage, The Umbrella Academy, True Blood, Suits, Killjoys, Walker and Being Human.
Movie music supervisors apparently didn’t want to be outdone either, as they have licensed The Heavy’s rock music for play on the soundtracks of films like The Expendables 3, the Reese Witherspoon movie This Means War, Faster and Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.
Yep, the four-member band has carved out a pretty nice career for themselves, eh?
Listen to The Heavy’s ‘Hurricane Coming‘ from last night’s True Lies in the song’s music video, and on their Without a Woman EP, and you will hear why.
