The Kinks’ ‘Strangers‘ plays as the players are in the locker room discussing the phone hack
Influential 1960s English rock group The Kinks’ ‘Strangers‘ was played on the soundtrack of Ted Lasso today — Ted Lasso, Season 3, Episode 8, “We’ll Never Have Paris“.
The track was used on the soundtrack as coach tells the players to delete every photo and video off their phones after they find out Keeley’s video was one of the people whose phone was hacked.
The song plays as every player is going through their phone and deleting their memories.
The Kinks’ ‘Strangers‘ came out in late 1970 on the band’s Lola Versus Powerman and the Moneygoround, Part One album.
Since its release, it has become one of the The Kinks’ most popular songs with fans.
The mellow rock song was written by the band’s lead guitarist Dave Davies, who once said he wrote it about a friend who overdosed on drugs and died.
‘Strangers‘ also became popular with other musicians, who also released cover versions of the track.
They include indie pop singer Feist, punk singer Ben Weasel Norah Jones, Crooked Fingers, and the pop band Lucius.
The Kinks was formed in 1963 and, during the next 33 years released 24 full-length albums, five live albums and a plethora of singles. Many of them were huge hits.
The band eventually broke up in 1996.
