Listen to Tyler, the Creator’s ‘See You Again’ from The Summer I Turned Pretty S2 Ep 1 opening scene

The superb teen drama The Summer I Turned Pretty is back on Amazon Prime Video this week, with Belly going through the same teen angst she experienced in Season 1.

We also get yet more cool songs on the drama’s soundtrack, with a nice mix of older 1980s and 90s songs along with more contemporary tracks.

The first song played on The Summer I Turned Pretty, Season 2, Episode 1 though was one of the coolest songs — Tyler, the Creator’s ‘See You Again’ (feat. Kali Uchis).

The song played in the opening scene as Belly is sleeping in class and dreams she is back in Cousins.

When was Tyler. the Creator’s ‘See You Again’ released?

See You Again‘ was the fourth single from the American rapper’s fourth studio album Flower Boy, which came out in mid-2017 via Columbia Records and via Sony Entertainment.

The song features singer Kali Uchis, and became a big hit for the pair after it went viral on Tik Tok.

That caused ‘See You Again‘ to climb charts in 12 countries, mainly in Europe, and to do especially well in the UK and the US where it hit two charts.

The song’s highest ranking was at #4 in the Netherlands.

Zayn Malik said “No” to ‘See You Again

The interesting story behind ‘See You Again‘, as well, is that Tyler, the Creator wrote the song for One Direction’s Zayn Malik, but the British singer decided not to record it.

Tyler, the Creator then decided to record it himself and recruited Kali Uchis to perform it with him.

The music video for ‘See You Again‘ was also directed by the rapper, although he released it under the pseudonym Wolf Haley.

Listen to Tyler, the Creator’s ‘See You Again’ (feat. Kali Uchis) from the first episode of the new season of The Summer I Turned Pretty in that video, and via the rapper’s Flower Boy album on Spotify — where the track has over 1 billion streams so far.
