Irish all-female R&B, pop band Wyvern Lingo’s ‘Used‘ was that lovely a cappella song playing at the end of the first episode of the BBC Three/ Hulu series Conversations with Friends this week, as Frances is talking to Melissa’s husband Nick on the street and as the end credits roll — Conversations with Friends, Season 1, Episode 1.
Wyvern Lingo’s ‘Used‘ was released in 2014 on the band’s self-published five-track EP The Widow Knows.
The band itself comprises childhood friends Caoimhe Barry (vocals, drums, guitar), Saoirse Duane (vocals, guitar) and Karen Cowley (vocals, synth, bass).
All three of them got their main start in music as backing singers for the Irish artist Hozier.
Beginning performing together as a band prior to 2014, however, it was 2018 before Wyvern Lingo released their self-titled debut album to critical acclaim.
Since then, they have been considered an Irish band to keep an eye on.
Wyvern Lingo’s ‘Used‘ also came with a simple official music video featuring the three women standing out on a dark street and performing the song.
Listen to Wyvern Lingo’s ‘Used‘ as heard on Conversations with Friends this week in the videos below, and on their The Widow Knows EP as well.
