Back decades ago when I was a radio DJ, I used to play Lloyd Cole and the Commotions any chance I got, I would even switch albums around in heavy rotation so I could play Lloyd Cole on my radio shows more than anyone else (yep, I was that addicted).

But, I was completely in love with their music, and adored their lyrics and Lloyd’s voice. So, as I had six shows a week, yes, Cincinnati, Ohio heard far more Lloyd Cole and the Commotions music than probably any other city in the United States.

Decades later, and I still feel the same about this amazing guy, his beautifully written songs, and his band. That’s why Lloyd Cole and the Commotions and their song ‘Are You Ready to be Heartbroken’ is my Repeat Rotation Video for today.

‘Are You Ready to be Heartbroken’ is from their debut album ‘Rattlesnakes’. It’s an album that does not have one bad song on it so, if you’ve never heard it before, do yourself a favour and get your hands on a copy. It will be one of the best musical experiences you will ever have.
