ITV announced the three judges that will join fixture Simon Cowell on season 13 of The X Factor today. They are Louis Walsh, Sharon Osbourne and Nicole Scherzinger.
Of course, it was pretty much guaranteed Louis Walsh would be returning to the show after his departure last year proved to be a huge mistake. On his return, Walsh said,
“He’d say otherwise but I knew Simon missed me last year! I’m delighted to be back on the panel especially beside my two favourite female judges Sharon and Nicole.”
Sharon Osbourne was hugely popular during her previous seasons and her last appearance as a judge on season 10, so it’s lovely to see her back.
And, of course, Nicole Scherzinger left after season 10’s X Factor because she wanted to work on her second album which, after release, ended up in the UK top 20.
Now the three judges are back, with only Gary Barlow missing from the old season 10 line up, it will be just like old times. Dermot O’Leary will also return as host.
Now, let’s hope the three, along with Cowell, can help resurrect The X Factor‘s flagging ratings. If not, who knows, this may be the final year for the show.
