New tvN drama Love Next Door, Episode 1 premiered last night to very solid ratings, as well as grabbed the #1 spot across all cable channels in its time slot.
The latest TV viewing data via Nielsen Korea shows Love Next Door, Episode 1 earned 4.89 percent of the viewership nationwide.
In Seoul, the K-drama performed even better grabbing 5.85 percent of the audience.
In other words, a great start for a Korean drama that also looks promising.
What is the Love Next Door plot about?
Love Next Door follows Choi Seung Hyo (played by Jung Hae In), a successful young architect who, while his life has been pretty much perfect for most of it, many of his not-so-great moments have involved Bae Seok Ryu (Jung So Min), a girl he met when he was just 4-years-old.
Seok Ryu was also equally successful throughout her early life, ranking first in her school for academics, and going on to be hired by a large company for a prestigious position.
Now, several years later, Seok Ryu is unemployed after quitting her job, and it is then Seung Hyo’s interactions with her are rekindled. Much to his dismay.
Love Next Door stars Jung Hae In, Jung So Min, Kim Ji Eun, and Yun Ji On, with the excellent supporting cast of Jo Han Chul, Park Ji Young, Jang Young Nam, Lee Seung Joon, Jun Suk Ho, Han Ye Ju and Kim Geum Soon.
It airs on tvN every Saturday and Sunday evening at 21:20 (KST), with Netflix streaming the K-drama internationally.
