Manga The Witch and the Knight Will Survive Volume 1 in English out and the art style is GORGEOUS

Yen Press has a slew of new manga publications out this month with one I have been waiting for, The Witch and the Knight Will Survive Volume 1 in English, now out and available for purchase.

The Witch and the Knight Will Survive (akaMajo to Kishi wa Ikinokoru in Japanese) is written by Dai Chikamoto with art from Gonbe Shinkawa.

The art is such an unusual style, it is worth buying the manga for that alone.

The 200-page first volume of the manga is also just the beginning of a new action adventure comedy fantasy manga that follows a knight and a strange witch who may not be quite as dangerous as rumours say.

Yen Press explains the plot of The Witch and the Knight Will Survive like this:

Agredios, the son of a local landowner, arrives home from a long hunt…only to find his village silent and devoid of its usual laughter and commotion.

What he discovers is an unimaginable agony that sparks a desire to avenge his fallen people by slaying the witch of the forbidden woods.

But is the witch truly as vile as rumors say?

A new quest begins: to discover the truth, save lives, and survive.

The Witch and the Knight Will Survive Volume 1 was published in English by Yen Press yesterday.

And if you grab it and enjoy the story (and I have read the first chapter and, wow, for the gorgeous art style and the fast-paced story), the second volume is also due out in English in September.

The fantasy drama is so unusual as well, I would not be surprised if the series gets an anime adaptation going forward.
