American singer songwriter Marissa Nadler‘s new single ‘Janie In Love‘ got a video this week and, as if it isn’t enough that the song itself is so gorgeous, Nadler also directed and created all the handmade animations for this amazing, albeit morbidly macabre, video.

Yes, it is true American Gothic indeed.

‘Janie In Love‘ is from Nadler’s latest studio album Strangers, which was recently released on Sacred Bones Records. It’s her seventh full-length album.
