Martial Peak Ep 28 stills – Yang Kai and Xia Ning Chang attacked by rival sect members!

Nine new stills dropped for the ongoing Chinese anime Martial Peak, Episode 28 (aka Wu Lian Dianfeng, Episode 28) earlier today via CG Year’s Weibo account

The stills, which you can see above and below, feature the donghua’s protagonist Yang Kai and his current companion Xia Ning Chang first of all enjoying a field of medicinal flowers, and then in the midst of a fight with various rival sect members who have set out to kill them.

The stills show the pair getting ready to fight, and Xia Ning Chang doing everything she can to protect Yang Kai, including erecting an impenetrable barrier to hide behind, while their enemies band together in an effort to kill them.

The stills were released via animation studio CG Year’s official Weibo account along with the comment:

As Xia Ning Chang walks away from the fight Yang Kai is currently in, she sets up a mysterious array at the valley bottom.

By the time everything is ready, it’s nearly evening, and the Nine Yin Condensing Dew is set to appear tonight…

And I don’t know about you.

While I am immensely grateful for the pretty stills, I could really do without everyone and their brother trying to kill Yang Kai for incredibly stupid reasons (bad writing, and annoying).

Hopefully, that will stop soon, eh?

Martial Peak, Episode 28 itself is due to premiere this week.

CG Year also reminded donghua fans, Martial Peak airs exclusively on Tencent Video every Thursday and Sunday at 9 PM in China, with VIP members getting early access to two earlier episodes than non-paying viewers.

Where to watch Martial Peak in the west?

Unfortunately, Martial Peak has been one of the more difficult Chinese donghua to find on western streaming platforms this season, with none of the usual streaming services offering it legally.

Currently at least, only Yuewen Animation’s YouTube channel is uploading each episode. And even then, each new episode is usually several days behind its release on Tencent in China.

Subtitles on Yuewen Animation are also very poor, which is why many donghua fans are searching out Martial Peak fan-translated episodes on other platforms. (Me too, I admit).

Up to you, though, what decision you make about your donghua watching.

Martial Peak is nicely animated by CG Year, and produced by Tencent Penguin Pictures.

It premiered on December 5th, 2024 and is scheduled to run for 48 episodes.
