If you’re not signed up for Netflix you might want to do it now if you’re in the US, as a new Netflix documentary called What Happened, Miss Simone? will soon be available on the service. It looks at three decades of jazz blues gospel singer Nina Simone’s life using live footage and interviews, as well as conversations with close friends and family, to tell her astounding yet sometimes tragic story.
Because while Nina Simone was one of the most talented and most unique performers ever to walk the face of the earth, she was also diagnosed as bipolar, which caused her to be volatile, unpredictable and sometimes quite frightening to be around.
What Happened, Miss Simone? will be available starting on June 26th. If you’re a Nina Simone fan, as I am, I’d recommend you see it.
