Things are heating up when it comes to the upcoming anime A Condition Called Love — one of my most-anticipated anime series of 2024 as, man, the manga is good.

Today’s news about the East Fish Studio-produced anime is four new A Condition Called Love cast members have been announced and, if you’re into heavy-hitter voice actors, these four should please.

The four new A Condition Called Love cast members announced via the anime’s official website are:

  • Yurika Kubo (Himuro-kun in The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague) voicing Hibiki “Kyou-chan” Asami
  • Maaya Sakamoto (Merlin in The Seven Deadly Sins) as Tsukiha “Shibamu-chan” Shibamura
  • Ryouhei Kimura (Shinsuke in Sengoku Youko) as Sohei “Yao-kun” Yao
  • Ryouta Oosaka (Sadao in The Devil is a Part-Timer) who is playing Keigo Kurata

All four characters came with cool character art that also introduces their voice actors (see above and below).

They also join the already announced Kana Hanazawa who voices Hotaru Hinase and Chiaki Kobayashi who plays Saki Hananoi.

The anime is being directed by Tomoe Makino (Katarou Lives Alone), with Hitomi Amemiya (The Strongest Tank’s Labyrinth Raids) in charge of series composition, and Akiko Satou (Trigun Stampede) designing the characters.

A Condition Called Love is based on the hit manga series by Megumi Morino, with 14 volumes out in Japanese.

The manga’s English language version is being published by Kodansha, who recently published Volume 13.

Kodansha describes the plot of the manga series like this:

Hotaru is a 16-year-old high school first-year who has always been ambivalent about love, preferring instead to have a lively life with her family and friends. So when she sees her schoolmate, Hananoi-kun, sitting in the snow after a messy, public breakup, she thinks nothing of offering to share her umbrella.

But when he asks her out in the middle of her classroom the next day, she can’t help but feel that her life is about to change in a big way…

The A Condition Called Love anime series is due to premiere in April, 2024. Watch its English-subbed trailer below because, yep, this one is a cute one.
