According to the official Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings X account, the anime’s premiere has now been confirmed as being some time in 2026 — which means we’re not going to be gifted with more of Alya’s awkwardness around Kuze until at least early in the next year. Bah.

They did release a cute new teaser visual, though, featuring Kuze silently pondering Alya’s awkwardness while Alya is flushed as pink as a rosebud, and looking decidedly uncomfortable to be sitting so close to the boy she likes.

Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian, Season 2 production details

Like its first season, the rom-com is based on the light novels by SunSunSun and Momoco.

The anime is being directed by Hiroshi Haraguchi, who was Episode Director for Episode 4 of the first season. He is taking over from Season 1 head Ryouta Itou.

Yuka Yamada (Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, and script writer for Episode 6 of Season 1 of Alya) is in charge of series composition, with Yuuhei Murota back as character designer.

Doga Kobo is animating the series again.

And, if you will remember, we left Kuze and Alya at the end of Season 1 with Alya growing as a person and finally calling him “Kuze”.

Plus, deciding she will be happy to spend time with him during the summer break.

A monumental step forward. Especially as I have a feeling we might just start the new season with the two of them with obvious couple vibes. Fingers crossed.

Enjoy the cute teaser visual, its previously released Season 2 announcement video, and rewatch Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian‘s first season on Crunchyroll.

It really was one of the best rom-coms released in 2024.
