New Blue Archive trailer explains anime’s plot – and showcases those cute girls

Blue Archive gives synopsis of anime in less than 1 minute 30 seconds

Upcoming anime Blue Archive: The Animation has released a new trailer that, “in about 1 minute” promises to introduce its main characters and the world the story takes place in, and explain the big problem those characters will be dealing with going forward.

The Blue Archive trailer starts off by explaining the anime’s world is a huge academic city called Kivotos, which is made up of thousands of schools.

Each school conducts events in its own area, with each student carrying equipment that can easily be purchased at a convenience stores.

Yep, a konbini in this world can get you stocked up on guns and ammo in no time flat.

The weaponry, however, doesn’t do that much damage. Even if you get hit.

And that means you shouldn’t have to worry about your favorite loli suddenly dying.

The problem the students of Abydos face in Blue Archive

Abydos Independent High School, the school where much of the Blue Archive anime takes place, is located in a part of the city where the population is decreasing.

That means the students at Abydos are now worrying about it closing, as fewer students are enrolling every year.

In fact, at this point, only five students remain at the high school — and no school can survive with so small a student body for long.

Those Abydos students are:

Hoshino, a third year student at Abydos

Shiroko and Nonomi, second year students

Ayane and Serika, who are first year students

On top of the student problem, the girls also need to help the school get rid of the huge debt it has earned due to its lack of new enrolees.

But it is then that a new student appears from another school, along with a teacher, and slowly the fortunes of Abydos begin to change.

The Blue Archive anime staff

Daigo Yamakishi (Yuru Yuri) is directing Blue Archive The Animation, with Shunji Maki (Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion Z the Animation) as assistant director, and both Hiroshi Oonogi (Gegege no Kitarou) and Daigo Yamakishi responsible for series composition.

Hiromitsu Hagiwara (Natsume’s Book of Friends) serves as both character designer and chief animation director.

Yostar Pictures (Arknights) and Studio CANDY BOX (Breakers) are in charge of anime production.

Blue Archive: The Animation is based on a hit mobile game, which probably means it already has a built-in audience when it premieres on April 7th, so this one should be popular.

Yeah, if you like lolis, this one offers them in spades.
