New Kingdom Season 3 key visual released – anime premieres April, 2020

The highly-anticipated seinen anime series Kingdom anime Season 3 was already announced as a done deal last month.

Today, a new Kingdom anime Season 3 key visual was released, along with some updated information about staff changes and additions.

Changes and additions from seasons 1 and 2 that are obviously expected, considering the last season finished airing way back in early 2014.

Staff changes for the third season of the Pierrot animated series include Kenichi Imaizumi (Shirobako, Reborn!) taking over from previous director Shinsuke Sato. Hisashi Abe (Devil May Cry, Yuri!! On Ice) will be in charge of character designs and Noburu Takagi (Kuroko’s Basketball) is taking care of series composition.

Japanese animation studio Pierrot was in charge of animation for seasons 1 and 2, but season 3 will be animated by St. Signpost, which is a subsidiary of Pierrot.

The anime is adapted from the popular manga series by Yasuhisa Hara,

The Kingdom anime season 3 release date is currently scheduled for Japan starting in April, 2020 on NHK General TV. the new series will cover the Coalition Invasion arc.

No word yet on how many episodes that will be but, with 38 episodes in Season 1 and 39 in Season 2, hopefully the third season will be of a similar length.
