The upcoming Sasaki and Miyano anime just got a new key visual and it is so sweet and romantic.
The new anime is based on the popular yaoi slice of life manga from Shō Harusono about two high school students who begin to develop feelings for each other.
One boy, Sasaki, knows he loves boys, whereas the other one, Miyano, is a self-professed ‘boys’ love expert’, but hasn’t quite realized he is about to be in his own boys’ love story.
The Sasaki and Miyano manga series first began life in 2016 being published on the pixiv Comic manga website.
Japanese publisher Media Factory then released seven tankōbon volumes of the manga, with Yen Press publishing the English language editions.
There are four currently out via Yen Press, with volume 5 on its way soon.
Each volume of the Sasaki and Miyano manga has adorable and sweet covers, with the two boys leaning against each other, standing really close or, in volume four of the English version, even holding hands.
How sweet is that?
The just released Sasaki and Miyano also has the same vibe — soft, sweet and quite romantic — as the boys stand against a delicate, pastel background surrounded by flowers.
The Sasaki and Miyano anime series is being directed by the phenomenal Shinji Ishihira (Fairy Tail, Log Horizon) at Studio Deen (KonoSuba, The Seven Deadly Sins: Dragon’s Judgement).
Yoshiko Nakamura (Ganbare, Douki-chan, Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun) is in charge of series composition, with Maki Fujii (I’ve Always Liked You) designing the characters.
Yuusuke Shirai (IDOLiSH7) is voicing Sasaki, with Souma Saitou (Moriarty the Patriot) playing Miyano.
In other words, with all those major players working on the anime, it should be pretty darned good.
We’ll find out when the Sasaki and Miyano anime premieres in January, 2022.
Meanwhile, watch the recently released trailer for the anime below, and agree with me the new Sasaki and Miyano key visual is lovely, eh?
