The ongoing historical fantasy anime YATAGARASU: The Raven Does Not Choose Its Master has a new story arc trailer out for its upcoming ‘Golden Raven Arc’.
An arc that deals with a new threat to Yamauchi as several young girls are kidnapped and disappear.
And an arc that is a nice surprise, as many fans (myself included) thought the anime had ended with Episode 13’s release yesterday.
The new arc will begin on July 20th, when the second cour of the anime premieres.
Along with the new trailer, the production committee has also announced voice actress Yume Miyamoto will be joining the anime’s cast as Koume.
YATAGARASU: The Raven Does Not Choose Its Master novels and anime staff
The Studio Pierrot-produced anime is based on the novels by Chisato Abe, with Yoshiaki Kyogoku (Laid-Back Camp) directing the series, Yukiko Yamamuro in charge of series composition, and Takumo Norita (Lagrange – The Flower of Rin-ne) designing the characters.
Eishi Segawa (the Battle Spirits series) is composing the Yatagarasu soundtrack.
With the first 13 episodes covering the events of the second novel in the series, the Golden Raven Arc will be covering Volume 3.
A manga series based on the novels and illustrated by Natsumi Matsuzaki has also been released via Kodansha’s K Manga app in some regions (not available in much of Europe it seems).
The YATAGARASU: The Raven Does Not Choose Its Master anime premiered on April 6th on Crunchyroll, and was originally scheduled for 20 episodes although Japanese fans are saying that seems far too few episodes to adequately Volume 3 of the novels so we will see…
