Nights with a Cat anime trailer showcases the perfect anime for cat lovers

If you are one of the hundreds of millions of cat lovers around the world, the upcoming Nights with a Cat anime is likely to be right up your alley.

Although Kyuruga, the star of the comedy anime, isn’t an old, beat up alley cat, but instead a very spoiled house cat that has just been adopted by his new owner Fuuta. (Well, I say owner, as anyone who has ever lived with a cat knows they really own us).

The Nights with a Cat anime (known as Yoru wa Neko to Issho in Japan) is based on the manga by Kyuryu Z.

Today, the anime got a new trailer and a cute key visual.

The trailer gives us a quick look into what it’s like living with Kyuruga (fun!), while the Nights with a Cat key visual has owner Fuuta cuddling the cat he loves so much, as Pii-chan looks adoringly on in the background (see below).

The Nights with a Cat trailer features the warm and relaxing theme song ‘Hinata no Kuni‘ (aka ‘Sunny Country‘), which is performed by Kashitarou Itou.

It also announced the anime will begin streaming weekly episodes on its official YouTube channel starting on August 3rd. (Subscribe so you don’t miss it!)

Nights with a Cat stars Ayahi Takagaki as Kyuruga, Satoshi Hino as Fuuta, and Atsumi Tanezaki, who is voicing Pii-chan.

Minoru Ashina (Isekai Quartet) is directing the anime and writing the scripts.

Character design and animation direction is by Minoru Takehara (Isekai Quartet). Studio Puyukai is in charge of animation.

Nights with a Cat started out as a manga on the mangaka’s Twitter account, and quickly amassed over 700,000 followers.

Kadokawa bought it for publication, and has since published three volumes. Yen Press is publishing the Nights with a Cat manga series in English, in both digital download and trade paperback.

They have this to say about its plot:

When Fuuta comes home tired at night, all he wants to do is spend time with his sister’s cat, Kyuruga. So many of the mysterious habits and mannerisms of house cats—from the surprising array of shapes Kyuruga likes to twist into, to the bizarre challenge of getting a good photo of him, to his lightning-fast mood changes—are carefully reproduced in this relaxed and cute comedy about living with an adorable furball!

Watch the just released Nights with a Cat trailer below and admit, not a single cat owner could ever avoid that, eh?
