Isekai anime No Longer Allowed in Another World now has two episodes out and, while we have already been introduced to the suicide-obsessed “Sensei” and his cat girl and elf priestess sidekicks, we haven’t met many of the new world’s other inhabitants yet.
That, apparently, is about to change as two new cast members and their characters have just been announced for No Longer Allowed in Another World, Episode 3, and the pair couldn’t be more different from each other. (see character visuals below)
First we have Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Bell in Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?/Mao in Twilight Out of Focus), who is playing a very brash-looking Koutarou.
He joins one of my all-time favorite voice actors Katsuyuki Konishi (Takano in Sekaiichi Hatsukoi, Dreyfus in The Seven Deadly Sins, Marbas in The Tale of Outcasts and Gaoshun in The Apothecary Diaries, to name just a few of his many roles), who is voicing a suave and mysterious looking ‘Tuxedo Man‘.
No Longer Allowed in Another World staff
The No Longer Allowed in Another World anime series premiered on July 9th with the first of a planned 12 episodes.
The anime is being directed by Shigeki Kawai (Uncle from Another World), Yasuhiro Nakanishi (Failure Frame: I Became the Strongest and Annihilated Everything With Low-Level Spells) in charge of scripts and series composition, and character designs from Tomoshige Inayoshi and Asako Inayoshi.
It is based on the manga series written by Hiroshi Noda and illustrated by Takahiro Wakamatsu, which has an English language version out via Seven Seas Entertainment.
The publisher explains the manga’s plot like this:
A second life in another world with cute girls by your side and video gamey powers–sounds like a dream, right? Not so for a certain melancholy author, who would quite literally rather drop dead.
Honestly, all the fantastical adventure is just getting in the way of his poetic dream of finding the perfect place to die.
But no matter how much he risks his hide, everything seems to keep turning out okay. Will our terminally depressed hero find a new lease on life in this cheerfully bleak isekai comedy?
The next episode of No Longer Allowed in Another World will premiere on July 23rd.
But, be aware, due to the Olympics airing, broadcast time in Japan has changed.
Look out for the voices of Yoshitsugu Matsuoka and Katsuyuki Konishi then.
