Nobuhiko Okamoto joins Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest cast as Ignia, The Fire Dragon God

Japanese voice actor Nobuhiko Okamoto has joined the cast of the ongoing anime series Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest.

His casting was revealed yesterday on the anime’s official X account, with Nobuhiko Okamoto named as voicing one of the Five Dragon Gods — Ignia, The Fire Dragon God.

Okamoto, of course, is known for voicing such popular characters as protagonist Rin in Blue Exorcist, Katsuki in My Hero Academia, Eiji in Pseudo Harem, Liebe in Black Clover and Shouta in Sekaiichi Hatsukoi.

Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest premiered on July 7th as part of the Summer, 2024 anime season.

The anime is currently being rated a solid 8.3 out of 10 by users of My Anime List.

My Anime List describes the anime’s plot like this:

The 100 Years Quest: a mission so challenging and hazardous that it has remained unaccomplished for over a century. While countless mages have attempted to take on this grueling objective, their results ended in either overwhelming defeat or worse.

Nonetheless, Natsu Dragneel and his friends—Lucy Heartfilia, Gray Fullbuster, Erza Scarlet, and Wendy Marvell, along with the exceeds Happy and Charlés—ambitiously embark on the quest.

Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest is based on the manga series of the same name written by Hiro Mashima and illustrated by Atsuo Ueda.

It is a spin-off of the original massively popular Fairy Tail manga by Hiro Mashima.

Toshinori Watanabe (Twilight Out of Focus) is directing the anime, with series composition by Atsuhiro Tomioka (screenwriter of the original Fairy Tail series), and Yurika Sako (Edens Zero) in charge of character designs.

The anime series is currently streaming on Crunchyroll.
