Even though we have some of the best movie theaters in the world here in Bangkok, I rarely go to theaters to see films. I prefer to wait until they’re on DVD when I can watch in comfort while lying in bed, gorging on as much pizza and Coke as I want, and stopping the movie for bathroom breaks. But….. there is going to be an exception to my ‘not many films in movie theatres’ policy coming up next month – the new Paddington movie, particularly as I’ve just watched the new Paddington Bear Trailer #3 and it’s fabulous.
In Paddington Trailer #3, we get to see Paddington in his native Peru, before he sets off for London for a new home of his own. Meeting the Browns at the famous train station, he’s soon ensconced in their home, with a new name and family, while doing his best to destroy the joint.
Then along comes Millicent, the crazy taxidermist, and it looks like poor Paddington might not survive London in quite the same condition he arrived in.
Paddington stars a slew of excellent British actors — Sally Hawkins, Hugh Bonneville, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Peter Capaldi and Ben Wishaw as the voice of Paddington, (and Aussie Nicole Kidman as Millicent), and all look just perfect for their parts.
Plus, there’s something about British movie studios that just manage to do children’s movies so much better than just about anyone else that I absolutely love (think Harry Potter – it’s the same producers on Paddington) – so, yes, this one looks like a winner.
Paddington releases on November 28th in movie theaters around the world. Meanwhile, watch Paddington Trailer #3 below. Now isn’t that cute?
