The new KBS2 drama Perfect Family, Episode 1 aired last night to solid ratings both nationwide and in Seoul.

Data via Nielsen Korea shows Perfect Family, Episode 1 earned 2.6 percent of the nationwide audience share, while it earned a slightly lower 2.2 percent from audiences in Seoul.

Both ratings are decent, especially considering the drama, titled 완벽한 가족 in Korean, is the first Wednesday/Thursday drama on KBS2 since Bad Prosecutor aired in late 2022, with the network obviously trying out the day and time slot again for future dramas.

Let’s make it a success then, eh?

What is the Perfect Family plot about?

Perfect Family stars Park Ju Hyun (The Forbidden Marriage), Yoon Se Ah (Sky Castle), and Kim Byung Chul (Doctor Cha).

Viki, who is streaming the K-drama, explains its plot like this:

Life was perfect for Choi Jin Hyeok (played by Kim Byung Chul), his wife Ha Eun Ju (Yoon Se Ah), and their beloved daughter Seon Hui (Park Ju Hyun) – until the day the young girl came home covered in blood, saying she thinks she killed her friend…

When the latter’s house burns down, suspicions at home and school begin to surface.

When another kid goes missing too, family members and friends begin to point fingers at one another. Will the truth about this “perfect family” ever emerge?

The 12-episode Perfect Family is based on a hit webtoon by Nyangpa and Joo Eun, and airs every Wednesday and Thursday evening at 21:50 (KST) on KBS2 through September 20th.

Let’s see how the second episode of the K-drama fares in the ratings later on tonight, eh?
