Vinland Saga, one of the best anime series of 2019 (even better than Demon Slayer, in my opinion), will finally soon be available on Blu-ray.
The pre-order for the Vinland Saga Complete Collection Blu-ray is now up on Sentai Filmworks, with the Blu-ray itself being released on August 31st.
The Vinland Saga Blu-ray includes all 24 episodes of Season 1 of the series on 3 discs, and will come with a new translation.
It also comes with 2 Clean Opening Animations, 3 Clean Closing Animations and 3 Japanese Promos for the series.
A Limited Edition will also be up for pre-order soon.
Vinland Saga was produced by Twin Engine, Production I.G, Wit Studio and Kodansha.
The hit series was directed by Shūhei Yabuta (3D Director of Attack on Titan), with Hiroshi Seko (Attack on Titan The Final Season) in charge of series composition, and Takahiko Abiru as character designer.
The story of Vinland Saga goes something like this:
Raised in peace and on fanciful tales of a mythical far-off land without war, young Thorfinn dreams of someday traveling to the fabled Vinland.
That dream is shattered when threats from the legendary Jomsvikings put him in the path of a band of Viking mercenaries, forcing Thorfinn’s father to sacrifice himself to the band’s leader: Askeladd. Alone and far from home, Thorfinn joins the forces of his father’s slayer, determined to compel a duel with the mercenary leader and avenge his father.
However, Thorfinn quickly finds himself ill prepared for a soldier’s life in the long war between Denmark and England…where the opportunistic Vikings earn coin by fighting for both sides. Now he must learn how to fight and survive, even if it means facing friend and clan in battle in VINLAND SAGA!
Amazon Prime is currently streaming Vinland Saga. Season 2 is expected to release late this year or early next.
