With the Chinese donghua Rakshasa Street, Season 4 premiering on Friday (November 22nd), the production committee has been releasing short character videos that remind us why we have loved every season of the animated fantasy supernatural series, and why its characters stuck with us.
Case in point, the latest in the series — Rakshasa Street, Season 4’s Xiang Kunlun character video (his Chinese name 项昆仑).
That came out a couple of days ago and gives our memories a nice nudge about the Leader of the Hall of Heroes.
A guy with one of the strongest Human Martial Spirits possible, and someone who is a lot more deceitful than you might think at first glance.
Something you will have realized when you watched Season 3 of Rakshasa Street as Xiang Kunlun killed Cao Yanbing (well, at least, he tried) and, while it appeared he was working for the Spirit Defenders, he later commented to Xian Gong his only goal is to get his hands on the Pearl of Revolution.
Then there will be hell to pay.
In the new Xiang Kunlun character video (watch below), the Hall of Heroes leader shows off some of his amazing fighting skills with his trident, as he fights Cao Yanbing, while reminding him (and us) of his own philosophy in life…
“If you’re going to do it, do it like you really mean it”.
Premiere date for Rakshasa Street, Season 4
Season 4 of Rakshasa Street is due to hit the Made by Bilibili — Donghua Chinese Animation channel on YouTube on November 22nd, and is currently scheduled to run for 26 episodes.
The donghua is again being animated by L²Studio, with Bilibili producing.
The donghua adaptation is based on the hit manhua written and illustrated by Xu Chen, with the first season premiering in April, 2016 and subsequent season releasing in December, 2019 and May, 2021 (Season 2 in two parts), while Season 3 hit in July, 2023.
This time, thankfully, we have not had to wait several years for the next installment to arrive.
Now watch Xiang Kunlun’s character video below, and remind yourself why you keep coming back for more.
