Reborn Rich, the JTBC drama that was only pushed into second place on the highest-rated cable TV series chart in Korea by The World of the Married, is coming back.
Yep, according to Korean entertainment news, Reborn Rich, Season 2 has officially been greenlit.
Great news for the millions of fans of the series. Especially the many who detested that awful series finale, who can now still have hope that something better may eventually come of it.
At the moment, however, we don’t have many more details than that the Korean drama is being co-produced by Lee Jung Jae and Jung Woo Sung‘s Artist Company alongside that company’s subsidiary Artist Studio.
Today, the studio announced they have already begun the planning and developing for Reborn Rich, Season 2.
The plot of Reborn Rich, Season 2?
In addition, the company commented the plot of Reborn Rich, Season 2 will be different than its first, in that it will, as they say “expand its narrative globally, depicting the success, love, and power struggles of its protagonists against the backdrop of international corporations”.
It will still, however, “maintain the essence of the original” apparently.
An Artist Company representative emphasized the coming K-drama should also be well-received by international audiences, considering, as they said:
This project is strategic content targeting the global market. From the initial stages, we’ve designed the storyline and characters to resonate emotionally with international audiences.
In other words, with so much time spent in the United Kingdom during the filming of The Acolyte, the 2024 TV series in which Lee Jung Jae starred, it appears the Korean actor may have developed an appetite for pleasing international viewers, eh?
Now, I wonder if he will star in the K-drama itself?
The cast of Reborn Rich, Season 2?
Nothing has been announced about the Reborn Rich, Season 2 cast as yet — so we do not know if any of the original K-drama’s main or supporting actors will return, or if we will be seeing a completely new cast.
We will keep you updated here at Leo Sigh as soon as more information is released as, if the second season of Reborn Rich is as superb as its first, (of course, that will depend on director, actors and script and, this time, a much better ending), it could even rival its original season on the highest-rated cable TV series chart, right?
Until then, all 16 episodes of the first season of the hit fantasy, business-themed drama are still streaming on Viki internationally for their subscribers.
