First season of Reincarnated as a Sword Blu-ray coming in August

The first season of the isekai anime Reincarnated as a Sword is finally getting a Blu-ray via Sentai Filmworks.

The Reincarnated as a Sword Complete Collection Blu-ray is due to release on August 22nd, 2023, with a Limited Edition of the release coming around the same time.

According to Sentai, the Reincarnated as a Sword Complete Collection Blu-ray includes all 12 episodes of the action fantasy anime (called Tensei shitara Ken deshita or 転生したら剣でした in Japan).

That means the Blu-ray has a total runtime of around 300 minutes.

As far as the soundtrack goes, the release also includes the original Japanese soundtrack with English subtitles, an English dub, and an English SDH soundtrack for the hard of hearing.

Along with the first season of the anime, the Reincarnated as a Sword Complete Collection Blu-ray also features a few extras.

They are pretty minimal but fans of the series will probably like them:

  • 2 Clean Opening Animations
  • 1 Clean Closing Animation
  • 11 Web Previews

What is Reincarnated as a Sword?

The fantasy isekai anime is based on the popular light novel series written by Yuu Tanaka and illustrated by Llo.

The first season of the Reincarnated as a Sword anime premiered on October 5th, 2022 and ran until December 21st.

It is currently streaming via HiDive who has this to say about its plot:

After our protagonist is reborn in another world as a sentient sword, he encounters a girl fleeing a band of evil slavers. Young Fran takes him up to defend herself, and together they’ll liberate those in need and exact justice on the cruel of heart.
