The main cast for the upcoming new anime series Rent-A-Girlfriend has been revealed this weekend.
Voice actors starring in the series announced so far include Sora Amamiya (Tokyo Ghoul), Aoi Yūki (Demon Slayer), Nao Tōyama (Laid-Back Camp), Rie Takahashi (Fate/Grand Order) and Shun Horie (Sarazanmai).
The Rent-A-Girlfriend anime is based on the romantic comedy manga series by Reiji Miyajima. It is being directed by Kazuomi Koga (Pokemon), with character design by Kanna Hirayama (After The Rain), and animation from TMS Entertainment (Fruits Basket, Dr. Stone).
The anime series tells the story of college student Kazuya Kinoshita who, after a bad break-up, decides to rent a girlfriend from a rental service that offers not only girlfriends, but also friends, parents and other family members.
Kazuya rents Chizuru, another college student who is working for the rental company as she thinks it will help her in her future career as an actress. Problems ensue, however, when not only does Kazuya realize he will have to keep renting Chizuru in order to fool family and friends, but he also finds himself falling in love with her.
There is no word yet on who will be streaming Rent-A-Girlfriend in the west, but the series will begin airing in Japan in July, 2020.
Until then, check out a couple of the just announced cast in the Rent-A-Girlfriend teaser trailer below. If the voice acting of the rest of the cast is this good, it sounds like the series is going to be excellent.
