New Sasaki and Peeps trailer also introduces the anime’s main characters
A new Sasaki and Peeps trailer is out this week, along with the upcoming anime’s latest key visual via its official website.
A Sasaki and Peeps trailer featuring the middle-aged salaryman (Sasaki) and the java sparrow (Peeps) meeting for the first time in a pet shop, with a lonely Sasaki so in awe of the cute bird he is determined to make it his own.
What he doesn’t bank on, though, is discovering the java sparrow is not a bird at all but a reincarnated sage from another world.
Nor that, before he knows it, the two will be embarking on a new business that will trade goods between Sasaki’s modern world and the alternate world Peeps used to live in.
All of this is shown in the new Sasaki and Peeps trailer, along with an introduction to some of the supporting characters. (Those character designs are very nicely done!)
Sasaki and Peeps‘ supporting characters
Those characters are National Public Officer Hoshizaki-san (voiced by Rie Takahashi), Section Chief Akutsu (played by Ryoutarou Okiayu), Head Chef French (voice actor yet to be announced), nobleman Viscount Muller (voice actor still to be announced) and neighbor Otonari-san (Akari Kitou).
They join Sasaki (voiced by Tomokazu Sugita) and Pii-chan (Aoi Yuuki), alongside the separately announced Elsa (voiced by Miyu Tomita) and Magical Pink (Inori Minase).
All of them play a role in bringing this wonderful looking isekai anime series to life.
The new Sasaki and Peeps key visual features all of the above characters, and several more, all in various scenarios with Sasaki, Pii-chan and neighbor Onotari-san front and center, and all suggesting this anime might be just a little crazy.
The Sasaki and Peeps light novels and manga now out in English
Sasaki and Peeps is based on the popular light novel series by Buncololi and Kantoku, which has also been adapted into a best-selling manga.
Yen Press is publishing the light novel series in English, with five volumes currently out and a sixth due early next year.
The manga adaptation is also being published by them (two volumes currently out).
Yen has this to say about the plot:

With his new avian roommate teaching him all sorts of magic tricks, could this be Sasaki’s chance to escape his droll office job?
The isekai anime is being directed by Mirai Minato (BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense), with series composition by Deko Akao (Higehiro: After Being Rejected, I Shaved and Took in a High School Runaway), and character designs by Saori Nakashiki (The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated) based on the original characters by Kantoku.

Mark your calendars as, with its trading plot between alternate worlds, this one looks unusual.
