A new 2.5 Dimensional Seduction trailer has just been released for the upcoming rom-com anime, alongside a beautiful key visual featuring the four female protagonists — Aria, Mikari, Ririsa and Noa. (see below)
With their pink cheeks and coy smiles, they are all also likely trying to seduce high school student Masamune Okumura, as they are in the manga club’s room and he is the only one of the main characters not featured on the new visual.
The 2.5 Dimensional Seduction trailer (watch below) introduces Masamune, an otaku and only member of the school’s manga club, as he meets fellow student Lilysa Amano. A girl who is not only into cosplay, but is also someone who wants Masamune to be her official photographer.
Something Masamune becomes incredibly excited about when he learns Lilysa’s favorite character is Liliel, an anime character he has also been obsessing over for years.
The trailer also features a snippet of the anime’s opening theme song — Meychan’s upbeat and fun-sounding ‘Shutter Chance‘.
The 2.5 Dimensional Seduction manga and anime staff
The new rom-com anime is based on the manga by Yu Hashimoto, which is currently being published in English by Seven Seas Entertainment.
The American publisher currently has 10 volumes of the series out, with Volume 11 due in August.
They explain its plot in this fashion:
“I have no interest in real girls!” So claims Okumura, the president of the school’s manga club. He’s your typical otaku, obsessed with a sexy (fictional) 2D manga character known as Liliel.
Then the new school year starts, and a (real!) 3D girl named Lilysa whose passion is cosplay joins the club.
Lilysa convinces Okumura to become her photographer–and guess who her favorite manga character is? Not only that, but Lilysa is into modeling the fetishy stuff!
The boundaries between 2D and 3D start to blur as this hot-blooded romantic comedy unfolds.
Hideki Okamoto (Konohana Kitan) is directing the anime, with Takao Yoshioka (Aharen-san wa Hakarenai) in charge of series composition, and Tomoyuki Shitaya (The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess) designing the characters.
J.C. Staff is in charge of animation.
2.5 Dimensional Seduction will premiere in Japan on July 5th with HIDIVE streaming it in North America.
