Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse release date announced by Netflix – FINALLY!

The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse Netflix release date is not as soon as we would like

The latest series in The Seven Deadly Sins anime franchise — The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse — has just been given a release date on Netflix.

According to the streaming platform’s Twitter account, who announced the acquisition of the anime a few weeks ago, that release date will be January 31st, 2024.

Unfortunately, that means there is still a while to wait, which is a little disappointing considering the anime series premiered in Japan on October 8th.

Hopefully, however, that January release date also means we will be getting at least half of the 24 episodes in the season all at once, and not drip by painful drip.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse aka Season 5

Four Knights of the Apocalypse is the fifth season in The Seven Deadly Sins anime franchise.

Instead of centering around the original group — Melodias, Ban, Merlin, Diana, King, Gowther and the late Escanor — the new season follows Percival, the son of Ironside and grandson of Varghese, and someone who also happens to be Death aka one of the Four Knights of the Apocalypse.

As Kodansha who is publishing the manga that the new anime is based on explains about the plot:

Percival has always lived with his grandfather on God’s Finger, a remote haven that sits high above the clouds. And though he loves the simple life, he secretly longs for adventure.

But Percival’s life is changed forever when an intruder—who shares a shocking connection with him—tears away everything he’s ever known.

With nothing left to do but chase down the one who took everything from him, Percival sets out on his own. During his journey, the sheltered boy discovers that there are a lot of things he doesn’t know about normal life.

Luckily, he meets friends along the way who can help him get by—but how will they react when they find out about Percival’s destiny… and how it’s connected to the end of the world?

There are currently 14 volumes of the manga, which is the follow up to the main Seven Deadly Sins anime series, out in Japanese.

The first volume of The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse manga series written and illustrated by original mangaka Nakaba Suzuki was first published in English by Kodansha in January, 2022.

Currently, there are 10 volumes out with Volume 11 due out in English on February 6th, 2024.

In other words, there is a lot of content to cover in The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse anime series, and likely more coming in the future.
