The new Bandai Namco crossover fighting game Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was released on the Nintendo Switch yesterday, and has already been called “the best game in the series” by a variety of critics and fans alike.
Now, of course, I am always skeptical when a game is called “the best” anything, as opinions differ, hype is real and people love to give accolades to their favorite game franchises.
So, I headed over to YouTube to find a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate World of Light walkthrough, as that is the core mode, and would allow me to see what all the hype was about.
And, I have to say, after watching RabidRetrospectGames Super Smash Bros. Ultimate World of Light walkthrough video — which by the way is over 14 hours long — I was convinced in only about an hour in.
Yes, indeedy, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the best game in the series.
After all, when a game has every character of every previous game in the series plus many new ones, single-player and multi-player gameplay, a huge amount of content, a ton of options, an enormous world map, an excellent soundtrack (check out that brilliant music player with hundreds of tracks), really beautiful artwork and incredibly fun gameplay — it is hard not to say it is one of the best of a genre.
Check out RabidRetrospectGames’ extremely long Super Smash Bros. Ultimate World of Light walkthrough in his video below.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate itself was released yesterday on the Nintendo Switch.
