The smash-hit Korean crime drama Taxi Driver was confirmed to be getting a Season 3 back in April, 2023 when its second season ended.
Since then, however, information about Taxi Driver 3 has been quite scant, and in particular about the main cast.
Would stars Lee Je Hoon, Pyo Ye Jin and Kim Eui Sung be reprising their roles, or would a completely different cast and main story emerge?
Today then, we can happily confirm Korean entertainment news media is reporting the Taxi Driver 3 main cast is Lee Je Hoon, Pyo Ye Jin and Kim Eui Sung.
In other words, with all three actors always incredibly busy filming or considering new offers, it likely took a while before a beginning production date could be set that fit all of their tight schedules.
Lee Je Hoon will reportedly be back as taxi driver and special forces soldier Kim Do Gi, while Pyo Ye Jin will again play genius hacker Ahn Go Eun, and Kim Eui Sung will reprise his role as Jang Sung Chul, the head of the crime victim support organization Blue Bird.
Three busy actors
All three actors, of course, have been incredibly busy since Taxi Driver 2 ended its 16-episode run on April 15th, 2023.
Lee Je Hoon has starred in the hit drama Chief Detective 1958, and in the military action thriller movie Escape alongside Koo Kyo Hwan and Hong Xa Bin.
He is also slated to star in the 2025 drama The Art of Negotiation.
Pyo Ye Jin starred in the Kdrama Moon in the Day in late 2023 alongside Kim Young Dae, and in this year’s Dreaming of a Freaking Fairytale opposite Lee Jun Young.
She also had a guest role in several episodes of the smash-hit supernatural horror drama Revenant.
As for Kim Eui Sung, he had a support role in the Netflix sci-fi action adventure Black Knight, a guest role in Flex X Cop and is currently filming the Channel A drama Check in Hanyang, which is due to premiere in December.
He also played National Defense Minister Oh Guk Sang in 2023’s biggest film of the year — 12.12: The Day — as well as starred in the historical time rift movie Alienoid: Return to the Future.
Now can you see why it took a while for the Taxi Driver 3 cast to be nailed down?
At the moment, all we can tell you about Taxi Driver 3 is that it is slated to premiere some time in 2025, and will begin filming soon.
Until then, you can watch the first two seasons of the Korean action drama on Viki — Season 1 and Season 2 — where both are rated as two of the most popular Kdramas on the platform.
