Thai manga SOTUS gets official English release – if you enjoy an interesting Boys’ Love manga, you will enjoy this one

Even though I lived in Thailand for 14 years, I am not a huge fan of Thai manga as I often find many Thai releases lack the superb storytelling of Japanese manga or Korea manwha.

That is also probably why most manga sold in Thailand is still Japanese.

One of the Thai manga I have read the first couple of chapters of and loved, however, is SOTUS – a Boys’ Love manga based on the film of the same name.

That in turn was based on the Thai light novel พี่ว้ากตัวร้ายกับนายปีหนึ่ง (aka (พี่ว้ากตัวร้ายกับนายปีหนึ่ง or Sotus The Series P with Mr. Waugh the Bad One).

And now it seems the SOTUS manga is getting an official English translation.

Written by the novel author Bittersweet and illustrated by Kei, the English language SOTUS manga is being published by Yen Press, with Volume 1 due out on February 21st.

Yen Press describes the SOTUS storyline like this:

SOTUS is an educational system in which upperclassmen impose “trials” upon underclassmen. Arthit, leader of the engineering seniors, plans to put his new juniors through a harsh training regimen to earn the symbol of their major—the gear.

However, a first-year named Kongpob causes new headaches for Arthit when he declares he’ll snatch the gear from him: “I’ll make you my wife!

I will add to that, if you enjoy a well-written Boys’ Love manga, with a bossy senior getting owned, a more unusual plot than we usually get in a Boys’ Love manga and a nice art style, you should give SOTUS a try.

You will especially like it if you enjoyed the popular film, or have read the light novels.
