GORGEOUS The Ancient Magus’ Bride key visual features ALL main characters with Chise and Elias in focus

New The Ancient Magus’ Bride, Season 2 key visual promo released

A new The Ancient Magus’ Bride, Season 2 key visual has been released, which features just about all of the anime’s main characters but with Chise and Elias the main focus.

The new key visual is yet another promo for the upcoming second season of the hit fantasy romance drama, which is due to premiere on October 5th in Japan.

The second season could also be a big hit or a big miss, considering much of it seems to take place away from the world Elias inhabits and instead at the College — a learning school for sorcerers — and a place where a new threat seems to have emerged.

Not a setting I am usually particularly interested in but, hopefully like you, I will reserve judgement to see how the anime itself pans out.

The Ancient Magus’ Bride, Season 2 teaser trailer gives a hint of the threat

The Ancient Magus’ Bride, Season 2 also recently got an official teaser trailer (watch below), which also features some of the second season’s new characters and gives us hints of the threat Chise and her new classmates must deal with.

According to My Anime List, the plot for Season 2 goes something like this:

Apprentice mage Chise Hatori is invited to enroll at the College, a prestigious learning institution for sorcerers, to examine and look for a way to remove the curses she bears. Despite her groom Elias Ainsworth’s reluctance, Chise accepts the proposal, as she believes attending the school might help her minimize her self-sacrificing tendencies.

From the get-go, Chise grabs the attention of her classmates and professors alike, who have never seen a mage in action before. However, there is a sinister plot brewing behind the College’s back, and the young mage will have to determine who is friend or foe in order to put a stop to it.

The second season of The Ancient Magus’ Bride is being directed by Kazuaki Terasawa (The Ancient Magus’ Bride: The Boy from the West and the Knight of the Blue Storm), with Rena Igawa in charge of character designs.
