After the initial announcement of The Apothecary Diaries, Season 2 back in March, we haven’t heard much else about the upcoming season except for a few releases of pretty illustrations celebrating various events.
That ended today with the release of a new The Apothecary Diaries, Season 2 trailer and key visual, as well as the official premiere date of the second season — January 10th, 2025.
In other words, in just over two months we will be able to pick up the adventures of Maomao and Jinshi where we last left off. Yay!
New The Apothecary Diaries 2 trailer has Maomao and Jinshi investigating several disturbing incidents
The premiere date was announced in the new trailer and on the gorgeous The Apothecary Diaries, Season 2 key visual featuring Maomao and Jinshi heading outside on a beautiful moonlit night.
Meanwhile, the new trailer also shows scenes from the upcoming anime season — Jinshi asking Maomao to investigate an incident that is troubling him, the appearance of two very interesting international envoys, Lady Gyokuyou is pregnant, and Maomao thinks a strange occurrence is very similar to the time Jinshi was almost murdered and she herself was injured.
Yes, the medicine girl and the imperial prince are back, and soon to be involved in a lot more palace intrigue that could soon threaten the entire country.
The second season of The Apothecary Diaries has also been confirmed to be a two-cour broadcast, just like its first season.
Crunchyroll will be streaming it outside Japan just like it streamed Season 1.
